Awarded installation for the Flatiron Prow Art Space, NYC!

I’ve just found out after submitting an extensive proposal to exhibit in the Sprint Flatiron Art Space, that I was chosen! The iconic Flatiron building in New York City, is at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Broadway, forming the unique triangular shaped building built in the 1920s. At that time a glass space was built at ground floor jutting out from the building, but of the same shape, forming the art space. The space is about 32′ long, average 10’wide, 12′ high glass on all sides. And, now I have to create my vision. I will be installing the piece in mid-September! Stay tuned for details. Once I start building this huge piece, I will be posting progress photos. The title of my exhibit is “Urban Fabric”. Teaser: think transparent suspended cityscape stitched together. Here are a few photos of the space.Thank you Sprint!IMG_0377409FlatironSpace1

  1. Congrats, Christina. I learned about this from LinkedIn. Will definitely check it out next time I am in Manhattan. I live in DC now and go there about twice a year.
Very happy for you. Hope you will get a lot of new work in NYC. Manhattan is just the playground for you:)
